XMAX V4 PRO Dry Herb Vaporiser

Who is the XMax V4 Pro for?

The XMax V4 Pro is the successor to the XMax V3 Pro, the budget convection vape that made XMax well known. It offers good value for money. It suits beginners, microdosers and V3 Pro owners looking for a step up.

The chamber holds about 0.1 to 0.15 g, so heavy users will reload often. The small load is what lets the vaporizer stay as slim as a pen, and you finish it in a few draws. Slide the glass mouthpiece into a 14 mm water pipe. That is where the vaporizer is at its best: quiet evening sessions.
A Body the Size of a Pen That Fits in Your Pocket

The XMax V4 Pro stands about 16 cm tall and 2.7 cm across, and weighs roughly 105 g. The anodised aluminium body feels solid in the hand and slides into a jacket pocket or a small bag.

The battery door at the base screws on with a knurled grip, so it stays secure in use. The USB-C port sits on the side, which means the vape stands upright while charging and takes up almost no desk space.

The borosilicate glass mouthpiece attaches magnetically and pops off for loading. No case comes in the box. Carry it mouthpiece-up in a pocket.
Convection Heat in About 11 Seconds

The heating element sits below the chamber and pushes hot air up through the herbs, like warm air rising from a floor vent to fill a room. The herbs are not pressed against a hot wall, so the extraction comes from air moving through the load.

Heat-up takes about 11 seconds, roughly as long as grinding a load. Going straight to the top of the range needs a little longer. The vape buzzes in your hand when it reaches the set temperature.

The air path is isolated from the electronics. Vapour passes through the stainless steel chamber and the glass mouthpiece, and at most you feel a little warmth through the walls.
Airflow You Set in Three Positions

V3 Pro owners used to cover the airflow holes with a fingertip to tighten the draw. The V4 Pro builds that habit into the vaporizer with a three-position slider on the back of the body. That level of draw control is unusual on a convection portable.

With the slider fully open, the draw is at its lightest and coolest, though it still carries some resistance compared with larger portables. The tight setting warms and concentrates the vapour, and the intensity builds later in the draw. The middle position sits between the two.

You can also move the slider while you inhale, the way you would cover and uncover the carb hole on a water pipe. Leave the airflow open at around 185 to 190 °C for the best flavour. Tighter settings and higher temperatures give warmer, more concentrated vapour.
Temperature Control to the Single Degree

The V4 Pro runs from 100 to 220 °C in single-degree steps and starts at 180 °C out of the box. The colour OLED shows the set temperature, the mode and the battery percentage, plus the live temperature as it climbs. In our testing it stayed readable outdoors in full sun.

Lower settings around 175 to 190 °C preserve terpenes and give the cleanest taste. Higher settings towards 210 to 220 °C get more out of your herbs in fewer draws.

Flavour is at its best in the first two or three draws, after which it turns more roasted. Above roughly 200 °C the vapour gets warm. Water filtration or shorter draws of about five seconds keep it comfortable.
A Chamber Sized for Efficient Loads

The stainless steel chamber takes about 0.1 to 0.15 g of ground herbs, with around 0.2 g as a practical maximum. Fill it loosely to about half the chamber, never above the rim, and never press the herbs down, because convection needs air to move through the load.

A concave dip around the opening guides ground herb into the chamber instead of scattering it. A metal mesh screen at the bottom lifts out for cleaning, and four spare screens come in the box.

One dosing capsule with a lid is included. Scoop ground herb straight in, snap the lid on and drop the capsule into the chamber, which stays far cleaner as a result. Airflow tightens slightly with a capsule in place.

You can add a five-piece dosing capsule set with a storage tube and pre-load a day of sessions. A grinder gives the even, medium grind that convection heating works best with. Both are sold separately.
Session Mode and On-Demand in One Vape

Session mode holds the set temperature for either 4 or 6 minutes, and the countdown runs on screen. It suits a relaxed sit-down session where you want the vaporizer to stay hot and ready between draws.

On-demand mode heats only while you hold the button, up to 30 seconds per press. Hold, take a puff or two, release and pocket it. Little is wasted between draws, which saves both battery and herbs.

Click the up and down buttons together once to switch modes. Between draws the vape drops into standby to save power, and a single press wakes it again.
Built for Water Pipes

The glass mouthpiece is the water pipe adapter. It drops straight into a 14 mm joint with no extra part to buy, and the rim rests in 18 mm glass as well.

Water takes the warmth out of the vapour, so you can run higher temperatures and finish a load without the heat catching your throat. That makes the V4 Pro a good option if you prefer cooler, smoother vapour.

The display flips 180 degrees so you can still read the temperature while the vape sits upside down in the water pipe. Press all three buttons together to flip it. Lift the vape out of the joint just before you stop inhaling, so no water gets pulled back into the vape.

If you do not own a water pipe, the optional glass bubbler attaches to the mouthpiece and gives you the same filtered draw.
Using the XMax V4 Pro

Three buttons run everything: the main power button plus up and down. Three clicks of the power button turn the vape on and off.

Loading: Grind medium and keep it fluffy, then fill the chamber loosely to the brim. Refit the magnetic glass mouthpiece.
Setting up: Triple-click the power button, then set the temperature with the up and down buttons. Pick session or on-demand mode and choose your airflow position on the slider.
Heating: In session mode, press the main button to start heating. In on-demand mode, hold it down. The vape buzzes when it is ready. If it has gone into standby, press once to wake it before holding.
Inhaling: Draw slowly for about 10 seconds. The first draw after the buzz is the weakest; by the second the vape is at full temperature.
Stirring: Halfway through, stir the load with the scoop on the mouthpiece lid or a stirring tool. Late in the session, raise the temperature by 10 to 20 °C.
Finishing: Session mode ends when the 4- or 6-minute timer runs out, and the vape drops into standby. On-demand stops the moment you release the button. Scrape the chamber out with the scoop while it is still warm, then triple-click to switch off.

A Replaceable Battery for Everyday Use

A single replaceable 2550 mAh 18650 cell powers the V4 Pro, and it sits behind the screw-on door at the base. Swapping in a charged spare takes only a few seconds.

In our testing we got roughly 6 to 10 loads per charge in on-demand mode and 4 to 6 in session mode, depending on temperature and how you draw. Standby mode conserves power between draws.

Charging goes through the USB-C port on the side at 5 V/1 A and takes about two to three hours. A USB-C to USB-A cable is in the box, but there is no wall plug. The vape caps its input at 5 V/1 A, so a high-power charger will not charge it any faster – and TopGreen warns that a charger above 5 V/2 A triggers the charging protection and the vape stops charging altogether, so use a basic adapter.

Pass-through use works in practice, though the manufacturer does not officially recommend vaping while charging.

For quicker top-ups, the Xtar X2 – Battery Charger charges cells outside the vape and takes two at a time. Pair it with the Eve 35V – 3500 mAh 18650 Battery so a charged cell is ready while the other one is in use. Both are sold separately.
Cleaning in a Couple of Minutes

Scrape the chamber out with the mouthpiece lid’s built-in scoop straight after a session, while the resin is still warm and soft. A quick brush after each session and a deeper clean once a week keep the flavour fresh.

The mouthpiece comes apart in a few seconds. Soak the glass and metal parts in isopropyl alcohol for 10 to 20 minutes, then rinse and dry them fully before reassembly. Run a two-minute burn-off at the highest temperature setting before the next load to clear any leftover residue. Silicone and plastic parts get soapy water and a brush instead, and they should stay out of the alcohol.

The cleaning set replaces the brush, tool and swabs. A new metal screen is worth adding when the draw starts to feel tighter. Both are optional.
V4 Pro vs FX Mini Ultra

The Wolkenkraft FX Mini Ultra is a compact convection portable from Germany, with a glass mouthpiece, OLED display and USB-C charging. Its five-year warranty is well ahead of the one year on the V4 Pro. The interface offers session mode only, so there is less to learn.

Three levels of draw control set the V4 Pro apart, because the FX Mini Ultra has no airflow adjustment. The V4 Pro also adds on-demand heating alongside session mode. Its 2550 mAh cell can be swapped for a charged spare, whereas the FX Mini Ultra’s 1600 mAh battery is built in.

If long-term coverage is your priority, that five-year warranty is worth weighing. The V4 Pro gives you more options for draw control, water pipe use and carrying a second cell.
V4 Pro vs Starry V4

The XMax Starry V4 is the brand’s own conduction pen at a similar price, with a deep ceramic chamber and a zirconia mouthpiece. It reaches 240 °C whereas the V4 Pro stops at 220 °C. It also offers three session lengths of 4, 6 and 10 minutes, against the V4 Pro’s two.

The V4 Pro is ready in about 11 seconds, noticeably quicker than the conduction Starry V4. Hot air passing through the load also preserves flavour better than herbs pressed against a heated surface.

On-demand mode and a glass mouthpiece that fits a 14 mm water pipe make the V4 Pro the more flexible of the two. The Starry V4 suits you if you prefer the character of conduction and longer timed sessions.
V4 Pro vs ÄRiS Ultra

The Wolkenkraft ÄRiS Ultra sits in the brand’s mid-range, with a titanium chamber and a matching glass bubbler. It is the more premium vaporizer of the two and is priced accordingly.

The V4 Pro’s clearest advantage is airflow you set in three positions, plus on-demand heating alongside timed sessions. It costs less while still covering water pipe use through its own glass mouthpiece.

Premium materials and matching bubbler glass are strong reasons to choose the ÄRiS Ultra. The V4 Pro has a different priority: giving you as much control and flexibility as possible for less money.
Recommended Accessories

Right now we offer a 25% discount on all accessories when you buy any vaporizer here at MagicVaporizers. Here is a guide to what is worth adding to a V4 Pro order.

Xtar X2 – Battery Charger: Charge cells outside the vape, with two bays so a charged spare is ready when you need it.

Eve 35V – 3500 mAh 18650 Battery: A second cell with more capacity than the included one, so a flat battery is less likely to end a session.

XMax / XVape – Dosing Capsule Set (5-pack): Fill five at home and carry a full day of sessions in the storage tube.

TightVac – MiniVac 0.12 L: An airtight pocket container that seals herbs and odour in. It is also ideal for storing already vaped herb between uses.

TightVac – Capsule Holder for Small Capsules: An insert for the MiniVac that holds pre-filled dosing capsules in place, so a full day of loads travels without rattling.

TightVac – Debowler: Tap the chamber out cleanly after each session and collect the used herb in one place.

Together with the capsule set, the MiniVac, capsule holder and Debowler cover the whole routine: fill your capsules at home, carry them sealed and organised, then tap the chamber out clean afterwards.

XMax – Glass Bubbler: Add filtration without owning a water pipe, and take the warmth out of high-temperature draws.

Santa Cruz Shredder: An even, fluffy grind lets hot air pass through the whole load.

MV StashBox + 8 Accessories: A canvas bag that stores the vape, spare batteries and pre-filled capsules in one place, behind a combination lock.

XMax V4 Pro – Complete Glass Mouthpiece: A spare means you can keep vaping while the first is being cleaned.

Magnetic USB-C Adapter: The cable snaps on and pulls away cleanly, saving the side port from daily wear.

XMax V4 Pro – Screen Set: Spare screens to keep on hand, so you can fit a new one when the draw starts to feel tight.
